Today, CBD oil is most commonly used to assist with pain, stress, anxiety, sleep, and inflammation. But the most widely used recreational and medicinal drug – marijuana – has the longest recorded history of human use. It alters sensory perception and causes elation and euphoria, most vividly described by the 19th-century French poet, Charles Baudelaire:
“The brain on marijuana will never deviate from its destined disposition, nor be driven to madness. Marijuana is a mirror reflecting man’s deepest thoughts, a magnifying mirror. It’s true, but only ever a mirror.” ~ Charles Baudelaire, 1860
CBD oil is becoming a more mainstream, natural remedy used for many common ailments and symptoms. Now, people are turning to CBD oil as a replacement for pharmaceutical drugs. Unlike THC, CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid and will not make you feel “high”. This allows CBD oil to be consumed in a safe way that should not interfere with the activities of daily life.

CBD Side Effects

Generally, there are very few side effects associated with CBD (in any form). Safety studies of cannabidiol showed it is well-tolerated but sometimes may cause dry mouth, tiredness, sleepiness, diarrhea, or changes in appetite. Preliminary research indicates that cannabidiol may reduce adverse effects of THC, particularly those causing intoxication and sedation, but only at high doses.
So far, serious drug interactions have not been seen with CBD in combination with any other drugs.
